Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 June 2026
TradesWebsites("we", "us") provides done-for-you websites and tools for trades businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.
Who is the controller / processor
For data about our own customers (tradespeople who subscribe), we are the data controller. For data your customers submit through a site we host for you (e.g. quote enquiries), you are the controller and we act as your processor under a data processing agreement or equivalent written processor terms.
What we collect
- Account and proposal details: name, business name, email, phone, plan, price and acceptance/payment status.
- Billing data handled by Stripe (we don't store card numbers).
- Leads, enquiries, quote requests, bookings and job details submitted through sites we host.
- Demo request and prospect records used to prepare private demos and follow-up.
- Usage and security logs.
Why we use it (lawful bases)
To provide the service (contract), to keep it secure and improve it (legitimate interests), to take payment (contract), and to send service messages. Marketing only with consent or a valid soft opt-in.
Sharing
We use trusted processors: Supabase (database/hosting), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend or another email provider, Twilio or another messaging provider where enabled, and AI providers where an AI feature is deliberately used. We don't sell your data.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's published transfer safeguards, contracts or other lawful transfer mechanism.
Retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose above, then delete or anonymise it. Proposal/payment records, audit logs and security records may be kept where needed for accounting, dispute, security or legal reasons.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, restrict processing, withdraw consent where consent is used, and complain to the ICO. To exercise these, email privacy@tradeswebsites.co.uk.
Marketing choices
You can opt out of marketing at any time. Reply STOP to SMS where that route is enabled, use any unsubscribe link provided, or email us at the address above. Service messages about an active account or requested demo may still be sent when needed.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in and security. See our Cookie Policy.
